Meet Dr. Gessner

Dr. Troy Gessner was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. After graduating from Canfield High School, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Molecular Biology at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, where he also played Division III basketball. Following in his father’s footsteps, he then attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.

Upon graduation, Dr. Gessner accepted a commission into the United States Army and completed basic training at the Army Medical Department Center of Excellence at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. To further his dental knowledge, he attended a 12-month Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Fort Benning, Georgia. Working one-on-one with specialists, Dr. Gessner was selected as the Honor Graduate of his class. He was subsequently stationed at Camp Zama, Japan for three years, serving Active Duty Military members and their families. Upon returning stateside, he served at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, treating many of our military’s top decisionmakers. After an exciting and rewarding military experience, Dr. Gessner and his wife, Katelyn, chose to plant roots in Orlando near extended family. These roots have since grown, as recently they were blessed with their son, James.

Dr. Gessner is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He earned his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, an accolade held by less than 2% of dentists in the United States and Canada. Dr. Gessner has completed the extensive training at the prestigious Pankey Institute that includes managing advanced TMJ dysfunction. He continues to seek additional continuing education opportunities to bring you the best quality dental care possible. Patients and their concerns, questions, and needs always come first. Dr. Gessner’s father is a retired dentist and he grew up understanding the importance of a good and trusting relationship between patient and doctor. No matter where you are on your journey towards dental health and a beautiful smile, Dr. Gessner will be there to carefully listen, thoroughly educate, and conscientiously guide you through the process.
